this summer night's whisper...

a sneak preview
from last night's session
with the girls and the new omondieu! shirts.
my thanks go out to wolfgang.
for taking the photos. and putting up with us
and our beautiful silliness.
and thank you to the girls,
for putting up with me.

i'm tired tonight.

and sitting back quietly after a long week.

diana krall is singing a song or two,

and i have a glass of rosé beside me.

with a bouquet of the most beautiful lavender on the table too.

candles are lit and softly dancing

with the breeze thru an open window.

and that's what i think i'm going to do.

sit outside

listen to this summer night's whisper

as she says...

star light, star bright

first star i see tonight...

wish i may, wish i might

have this wish I wish tonight.

to let it go. to let it go...

"To live in this world, you must be able to do three things:
to love what is mortal;
to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go."
- Mary Oliver -
(photo from a day in paris. once. a while ago.)

just a small reminder to the self.

that there's strength in weakness.

and weakness in strength.

and the rest of my words,

i write on my heart.

i touch with the tip of my tongue.

speaking a silent language.

to let it go. to let it go...

only the deepest secrets...

"O no, she said,
you can't say just anything to the wind.
Only the deepest secrets will do
and also you must not use the letter i."

as long as i can remember over years,

brian andreas has been a constant companion of smiles,

precious thoughts and inspirations.

it's the simple and yet playful way he sees and translates life

it's the words that are written between the lines

that can say so much more in their innocence and silence.

and sometimes they are just so brutally beautifully honest.

whenever i go home for a visit,

i search and look for little bits and pieces of story people to bring back.

i have his cards that i keep for myself.

i have his cards that i know need and want to be shared.

and every now and then,

when i need a simple reminder of life and little moments,

i pull out a book from my shelf

and open a random page to read.

and usually the words that fall onto my lap

are just the words i need to feel.

and today.

these were the story people words that found me.

ps. while i was in frankfurt at the decorate life: fair,

i had the pleasure of meeting yogi.

who's part of the team bringing story people and brian's magic to europe.

it was a wonderful conversation and encounter.

and we mulled over ideas,

shared our own little story people stories.

yes. let the magic begin.

there's a lion in my heart...

from the anna's zoo collection
thank you gabi!

there's a lion in my heart... and on my heart...

and at times. he roars. he roars.

ever so quietly. ever so silently.

he's simply there...

it's been a long while again. hasn't it...

there are so many times that i mean to write

and i speak the words in little conversations

or i simply write them down, in my mind

and yes, in my heart too.

it's just so rare that they find their way here

in the black on white of written words.

and i need to write so many friends too.

gaylene. i can't tell you how i think of you

and how awful i feel that i hadn't written

and that i missed you again.

i feel as though i have so much to explain.

and for your constant patience, i thank you.

cori. i just found your messages.

and i promise to write soon too.

it's our twenty years that is coming up.

and i'm wondering if i can make it.

but also, doubting if i can make it too.

chris. i promise i'll call soon.

i think we need to talk.

and it'll do the heart good to talk.

you know what? i really miss him these days.

and sometimes i just want to hear his voice.

that's what aches most at times,

is just knowing its his voice i'll never hear again

and its that smile i'll never see again.

but i still like to think he's here at times.

and even with that cheeky grin on his face.

kerstin. have you found your way to germany yet?

and instead of asking... i should be picking up the phone.

calling. and saying hello.

susan. i know you're on your way. soon.

and i can't wait to be sitting down

sharing a cup of coffee and a glass of wine too.

tam. i miss you.

and at times, i think that's all i can say.

i miss you.

susanna. how do you feel about simply coming over?

i'll pour us a glass of wine. and we'll mull over thoughts and words.

----------

damn. there's so much i want to say.

i could talk about all the things that have happe ned.

over days and weeks and months.

there's been a coming and a going of friends visiting.

there's been quiet moments.

there's been the fears and doubts.

and then there's all the hopes and dreams.

there's been the moments that smiles upon me

and i find myself asking if i really do know

how gracious and precious it really all is.

what it is that i've done to deserve these moments

a generousity of friends. and of their love.

their patience. their understanding.

there are the moments that are simply alone.

and at times with a yearning.

and i find the heart asking a thousand and one questions

all in the same breath.

----------

i'm drinking a glass of rosé.

i'm looking at a pair of new shoes i bought today.

red shoes.

and i like to think they are daring. they are bold.

or maybe its just me discovering the daring. and the bold.

there's a faux strawberry laid on the table beside me

waiting to become something playful and fun.

and i believe it's a necklace draped around me for what she'll be.

red. that seems to be a colour that shines around me these days.

red shoes. a red dress. and strawberries too.

i just got back from frankfurt and the decorate life: tendence fair the other day.

it was a grueling few days. but a good few days.

i was honoured to be asked to hold lectures and speeches at the fair.

and i have to admit that when i was first asked,

a little voice inside of me was saying no...

and then i realised that an oppurtunity and chance as that doesn't come twice.

there was, simply knocking on my door.

so that little voice inside decided to say yes.

i held two lectures on friday. and another on monday.

i chose my themes as decorate life: the emotion and essence of style.

i have to admit. there were shaky knees walking onto stage.

but suddenly the moment takes over.

and you step into your element. your passion of life.

beatrice from glanz und gloria

held the following lecture and speech after me on monday.

and she's long been one of my favourite designers

with a secret vow to the self, that one day i'll wear one of her rings

with exactly that. the splendor and the glory.

she caught me off guard as she approached to me after my presentation

and asking if i'd like to be a part of her presentation as well.

that we simply create a podium discussion. evoking and provoking.

and setting our visions alive.

again. it was a moment of feeling overwhelmed and honoured

and with that small voice inside me, shedding her doubt

until that voice realised, it simply about saying yes.

and that's what we did.

with our own style of emotion and essence.

and a good glass of champagne.

and these days i'm heading towards the race against time

as the deadline for the next catalogue draws closer. and closer.

there are times, it keeps me awake at night.

same procedure each and every time.

but i like to think it's because of the "herzblut"

the passion of what we do.

it's personal. and the signature of the self.

it's about the want to succeed. and to dream with open eyes.

herzblut.

and what else have the past weeks and days been all about?

its been about silently loving on a one way street.

its been about learning to play in gardens.

the weeding. the sowing. the planting.

and the waiting too.

i like to think its a magical garden in bloom.

a garden of lavenders and roses.

it's been about friends visiting. and visiting friends.

it's been about omondieu! slowly coming back to life.

its been a picnic in italy.

and coming back home with the most beautiful white oleander.

its been long walks along the seas of ireland.

whispering spells and manifesting dreams.

alone. or with the girls.

it's been about closing chapters

and holding onto the hope of tomorrow.

its been about a dining room tables filled with life

friends as family. family as friends.

it's been about gazing under stars and making a wish or two.

it's been about surrendering to what it is to be a woman that feels and yearns.

it's been about wearing a red dress for the first time.

(and red shoes too.)

it's about feeling so small and scared and unsure of all before us.

and it's been about feeling the power and the faith of all within us.

it's been about inspiration.

and seeing clearly. feeling passionately.

it's been about generousity of friends.

new. old.

it's been about flea market treasures.

of old leather purses and lace pillow cases.

and mother mary medallions worn gently close to the heart.

it's been about challenging the self

like holding speeches and saying "yes i can."

it's been about my brother visiting.

and a year. yet another year passing by.

and i think what i want to say...

is simply thank you.

for each and every day.

there's a lion in my heart...

and at times. he roars. he roars.

ever so quietly. ever so silently.

he's simply there...

that's just the way it is...

silence. is golden.

thursday night.

and those are the words

that whisper the lesson of today.

silence is golden.

and of all the emotions. hopes, wishes and yearnings i held close today,

they were answered in unexpected ways.

with that of a friend. of endless conversation.

and then simply

in silence. that is golden.

i need to capture tonight.

hold onto it just a bit longer.

as though to let it linger.

i need to embrace and weave the words here,

as though marking them with the black on white of written lines.

but later. maybe tomorrow.

because for right now,

i just want to hold the thoughts and the moments,

close and dear. within.

and silently.

and if you listen close enough,

you'll hear the hush and calm

and let it whisper over you.

yes. silence is golden.

april in a sunday morning dress...

april in a sunday morning dress...

of little flowers that are blossoming in the garden.

i stepped outside in the awakening fresh of morning

to pick myself a handful of pretty magic

with a cup of coffee in my hand.

and after doing a bit of this and a bit of that

getting caught up with words and friends

its time to take this sunday spring day by the heart.

heading out to pick up lenny

and go for a walk.

haven't yet decided where the journey will take us.

maybe along the rhine, watching barges pass by.

or up in the vineyards, gazing over horizons and day dreaming sweet.

i just want to let the spring air cascade into me

with a breath that is larger than life...

walking. with open eyes and an open heart.

and sunday.

ireland. and a book of wishes.

postcards from the burren. ireland.
once. and a while ago.
a dear friend.
and pictures upon taking pictures.

there's actually a lot that i could be writing about.

maybe later. stories of the autobahn. saturday adventures.

but right now

these written words about a letter that arrived in the mail today.

"hi there...

so what did you write in your book of wishes this morning?

because on friday, june 6th, you are flying to ireland with me

and flying back home on monday, june 9th with me and the kids.

staying at jacinta's - all is arranged.

the friday flight is a late flight,

so you only need to take monday off of work.

flight is paid for.

so yes, we are going to ireland!!!

and wishes come true.

love, gwen."

and in the envelope, there was a plane ticket.

enough said. i think i'm speechless. still.

i'm going to bed.

and a grateful thankful heart i am,

asking what i've done

to have friends like this.

this month of march.

petra.
and blurs of
sunday afternoons in march
spent with a friend.

came here with all intentions of writing.
because there were so many thoughts on my mind
that i felt i simply want to share.
hold. capture. remember.
maybe even manifest.

and its easter monday night
that has the subtle taste of a winter's sunday night.
snowing outside. and cold.

just finished watching tatort on the tele.
it's almost as though that belongs to german religion
usually of sunday evenings.
[almost] everyone stays home, curled up on the couch
and yes. tatort.

corinna. are you guilty of the conviction too?

march has been a winter and spring of a month.
not just in the sense of weather,
but in the sense of life. and emotions.
its been about yearnings and longings.

it's been about taking big steps and taking small steps.
its been about standing still.
there have been days that all feels like the quiet hush of spring
and days that feel like the bitter and cold of winter
that doesn't just yet want to let go.

it's been about questioning
and answering.
or simply seeking the answer.
maybe better said, seeking the courage to answer.
other [ir]relevant moments of march?
being invited to the awards again this year.
and considering i never even listen to that radio station
[should i really be admiting that...?]

it was still an evening to enjoy and an evening to remember.
i literally kept crashing into tim mälzer the entire evening.
accidentally. and to be honest,
at first i didn't even recognise him.
at least not until he was on the stage to receive his award.

so aside from him stepping on my toe
or him taking a step backward and straight into me,
the last collision of the evening after the awards
was made good again with a small kiss.
i guess a moment when one says,
we have stop meeting this way.

the other sweet moment of the night
was talking with maria mena
and sitting down with her for a brief moment.
a true gem she is.
natural. authentic. and yes, sweetness.

"just hold me" still pierces my heart
in the exact same way it did,
the first time i ever heard the song play.
and it sings words that my own language wasn't able to speak
to him then. or even now.
the first time i heard it, i was driving in the car.
and i had to pull over
just because it was as though those words
froze right thru me. in a sense of familiarity
that said it all.
that's over a year ago.

and nevermind me almost does the same
just in a different way.
"What is the game we're playing?
should I stick around for more? "
so maria my dear.
thank you. just for that.

march has also been about meetings with lawyers
saying enough is enough
and standing up. tall. and proud.
and it feels rather liberating.

march has been time spent with friends
sleep overs. coffee sessions.
cooking dinners.
and needless to say
a bottle of wine or two.

easter weekend was lovely. quiet. too.
gwen came over on friday afternoon
and we went to the friedrichsbad
just time to relax, fall into the bliss of ease.
came home. cooked us a dinner.
and just sat at the table for hours.
talking. the way we girls do.
saturday we decided to go to karlsruhe
and three summer dresses later
in what feels like the midst of winter.

the weekend was also about purging.
sorting thru things. beridding of things.
letting go. simplifying.
kind of like a feng shui of the soul
[three garbage bags later. and a box for a flea market too.]

and i'm taking the day off tomorrow.
caro's staying yet another day before heading back to starnberg.
so the girls are coming over in the morning for coffee
and then we're off to see the gerhard richter exhibit
before heading off to the baths again.
but for now,
after all i've said and not yet said,
it's time to hush a good night.
blow out the candles,
and make a wish.

always come true.

Monday, March 03, 2008

past. present. future.

excerpts of the saturday morning sessions
taken once. upon a time ago.
recollecting mazes of old photographs
a rebirth. of being brought to life.
again.
i wrote a bit of this. and a bit of that.
and then i simply deleted.
sometimes it feels like the words get lost
or then maybe,
then just need to be held inside
a moment longer.

but it's wednesday night.
and after a good not so good and back to good
day at work
i came home a bit inspired
did a bit of work
research.
strange, but i like doing that kind of work.
finding new designers. stores.
and one thing always leads to another.
endless at times.

and then i caught myself thinking about him.
the one that is so often in my heart
and on my mind.
its a special place that he holds there
sometimes a lonely place,
but he's simply there.
the heart. the mind.
its often two languages that they speak.
but its the language of the heart
that i understand most.
simply because it feels the most.

i have my fleurs surrounding me,
almost like a meadow blossoming.
poured a late night glass of wine
and put myself to more work.
and i still love my fleurs,
the root of what started and what became
omondieu!
but today also brought new inspirations,
continuing inspirations.
the angel collection is falling into place.
slowly. surely. but with her gentle wings.

i'll drop subtle hints
of these angels amongst
mink and pearls.
and lace with satin flowers.

anyhow.
i almost think its time to say good night.
reflect on the day.
and maybe send myself off to a dream.

i made a wish this morning,
and wrote it down.
and i smiled
as i wrote those words then.
just as i smiled
writing these words now.

star star... teach me how to shine

- kyra -
its the wonderful way she shares her world.
the questions she asks. or the way she smiles.
and the wonder of simply watching her grow
into life.
kind of like a star.
sunday evening

and its quiet interlude of thought.

drinking a glass of wine after a late night coffee.

coffee that leaves the skin and the heart warm,

and making you trace fingertips along the brim of that empty cup.

maybe like wanting to remember

or simply to let the taste linger

just a moment longer.

and right now,

i like hearing the wind of the storm outside,

its a bit calmer now. and hushed.

but taunts in a lull, as though again

just to remind you of the presence.

like whispering,

here i am.

and in between all of this,

star star is my gentle musical companion.

just like this constant play, stop, rewind,

that strums thru the heart.

yet always wanting just to pause or simply fast forward

and keep bodily beautiful moments alive

and close by my side.

like that cup of coffee. tonight.

"star star. teach me how to shine shine.

teach me so i know whats going on in your mind."

- - - - - - -

this weekend had a few precious moments.

time alone. time with friends.

martina and the girls downstairs.

making wishes. and day dreaming a little too.

smiling with blossoming hyacinths and tulips

all in purity of white.

finding an old dresser for little things like

teacups and teapots and porcelain.

or spending sunday afternoon at a market with elisabeth

and then sitting in the car in a parking lot

talking just a bit more

because as girls,

there are always so many things on the mind

and in the heart.

but i think what i'm really holding on to

is tonight

and that cup of coffee that made me smile.

pause. linger. and play that song again.

where we live... in heart.

my mom. my dad.
once upon a long while ago.
she this timeless grace of beauty.
he the charmeur. that made her heart melt
and my heart too.
"It's Spring fever...
You don't quite know what it is you do want
but it just fairly makes your heart ache,
you want it so."
- Mark Twain -

maybe the one thought,

really has nothing to do with the other thought.

i mean, a photo of my mom and dad.

and thoughts of spring.

but i'm a december child.

and counting back time and months,

it must have been a spring fever that brought me

into this wonderful world we call life.

but as i decided to write a line or two tonight,

mom just called

and god its always feels good.

in just the way she says

" i miss you...

so i was just thinking of you and wanted to hear your voice. "

and its usually in moments,

that i'm really just missing her and thinking of her too.

and isn't that the wonder of family. of friends. of love.

the way thought can pass thru distance,

even time.

and that thought just made me pull out a book from the shelf

margaret atwood. cat's eye.

when she says...

"time is not a line, but a dimension like the dimensions of space. If you can bend space you can bend time also, and if you knew enough and could move faster than light you could travel backward in time and exist in two places at once."

sometimes i wish that's just what i could do.

here, where i am now. as this woman i am now.

but with the playful innocence of that little girl

that with the years, became this woman.

and at heart, sometimes i still am that little girl

just as i am the glory of a woman.

so maybe we do live in two places at once.

and with our dreams of tomorrow, we make it three.

anyhow.

its been a blur of weeks.

and so many times i wa nted to capture them here.

the sweet moments. the quiet moments.

hushed moments.

just the random thought of moments.

moments that don't matter

and moments that matter most.

but with time, even those moments blur.

kind of like a faded photograph.

once. and upon a time.

tonight,

i sat amongst the midst of my fleurs,

making rings that need to be sent off on little journies,

bringing magic back to life.

yes, bringing spring back to life.

like a whispering reminder,

that's nudging me along the way.

what is it that makes your heart so want these days?

quiet thoughts.

children of venice.
part one.
i can still smell the air,
hear sunday morning silence upon the streets
as i remember this moment.
with a camera. in venice.

very tired tonight.

have so many things that i want to say. want to share.

but words aren't finding me easily.

another late night with work.

although i did find my way home a bit earlier for a change.

the deadline is ever so close. and i'm ever so far away.

but gwen's coming over for dinner tomorrow night.

so on the drive home,

and mulling upon indecisions of what the menu might be,

i bought a bit of this and a bit of that.

coming to the conclusion,

that a bit of cheese, a few marinated olives and a glass of wine

might be just perfect for a bite to eat on an night like tonight.

to be honest, i can't even remember the last time

the past few weeks even had me in a store.

and i hadn't bought my ritual of roses this week either,

so that was done tonight as well.

it was nice, just coming home

putting things in their place.

sitting down, and even with this yearning,

this constant lull upon my heart strings,

it was nice just to have the quiet. the peace. the calm.

yes. even with the taunting storm and wind outside.

it almost feels like spring is on its way.

so i think i'm simply going to bed.

keeping the words deep within. simply as thoughts.

quiet. hushed.

but if you listen closely,

they can still be heard.

just like the falling rain. outside.

"There are days
I drop words of comfort on myself
like falling rain

and i remember it is enough
to be taken care of by myself."

lightness. gratitude. clarity...

walking thru paris.
jardin des tuileries to be exact.
a moment captured and held as though hand in hand.
the magic of the camera and the eye.
have i shown this photo before?
probably. yes.

lightness. gratitude. clarity.
beauty. elegance. grace.
femininity. passion. love.
abundance. wealth. respect.
courage. discovery. decisions.
yearning. faith. belief.
wisdom. radiance. honesty.
integrity. strength. compassion.

those are words that found their way on paper this morning. while sitting here and drinking coffee. they were instinctive words. intuition words. simply falling and finding their way. its as though they speak a secret language of their own. a morse code of the soul. a tapping of the soul.

words mean a lot to me these days. searching for words. holding on to words. sometimes they flow easily. and sometimes they feel silent. as though i trip and stumble over my own tongue. and at times its my heart that speaks, and not the mind. sometimes i say it the way it is. and sometimes i draw circles. like a language of connect the dots. and yes, i do speak and write between the lines as well. and then there's always the reading between the lines...

but yesterday found words as well. yesterday found old books.

before heading to the office to get some work done quietly on a saturday, i spontaneously decided to go to a second hand store close by here. been there a few times but never really found the hidden treasures that grab you by the heart and make you say yes. a treasure that wants to be discovered simply and only by you. can't even say what i was really looking for. i need furniture for the flat. that's a fact. a sideboard, a cabinet... something i can refurbish, bring back to life. make it unique and make it mine. but also simply because i need to get things into place. my "dining room" that needs to be my work and inspiration space, but not be the creative and chaotic mess of one. yes, i can be one of those. oh god yes. and at this moment, its neither one nor the other. and all these ideas and goals, visions and hopes that i have and are rebirthing themselves, need their space and their room. kind of like a nesting space.

but i think that was what the conscious eye was looking for, and the subconscious eye often takes you by the hand and leads you on a different journey.

so yesterday, that's what i found. books. and if i dare to admit, i don't think i've ever even "consciously" noticed they had books there before. particularily old books. i have a love for old books. not just for the stories told on their pages by the author, but for the stories they hold and create over time themselves. little secrets of where these books have been, the scribbles and side notes. or simply torn and worn pages. some books can simply lull and pull you. attract you. and when i'm in paris, one of the things that is always a bit of a personal religion is the Shakespeare & Co. bookshop. what a magical place. a favourite place. eye wandering thru the shelves and finger wandering over the backs of books, like touching life and lives.

anyhow, the first book that did this yesterday, the pulling and the lulling, was leo tolstoi's "anna karenina". a german edition from 1950. the aged linen of the cover, the embossing of the initials. something beautiful. and then came charles dickens and "christmas books". bless you charles. a first edition copy of a chapmann & hall issue from 1907. next in the hand was a book that when i saw it, i thought of susan. i know she's working on a little project and i promised to keep my eyes out for her. its an old dictionary. german. english. 1948. so my dear, whether its what you need or what you want or had in mind, it simply spoke your name at that moment. and i know you'll make it some kind of magic. and last but not least, there was a yellow with gold embossed copy of alphonse daudet's parisian novels.

those were the words of yesterday.

when i left the shop, it had just started raining. and i don't know why, but i just stood outside instead of getting into the car. simply stood there. smiling. and thinking how sometimes the smallest and most simple things in life can be the sweetest things. so there i was, lost in the thought and in the rain. didn't even notice the car that stopped beside me and the man that rolled the window down until i first heard a voice ask me if i knew where the second hand furniture shop was. had to smile at him and yes. just came from there myself... its just around the corner. he said thank you, smiled back and drove off. now that i think of it, i believe it was my small good deed of the day. he seemed rather agitated and unnerved when he first asked. probably driving in circles and of course, when its raining, its hard to find someone simply standing on the middle of the street... duh. so at least i made a stranger smile. and i hope he found something in that shop that he can call a treasure of his own too.

i do believe i babbled enough for today. words took on a different meaning. and a different form. maybe transition. and lets see whatelse the day is going to hold. i might go for a walk along the rhine. was contemplating a walk in the hills, the vineyards, but i need easy ground today. calm. quiet. straight on and straight forward. there's so much going on these days and so much that is standing still. it's almost as though it contradicts itself.

and with that said,
today is about granting myself permission to simply let time be time...
and the self be the self.
unravel the heart and mind.

but i still wish i knew, how to make a wish or two... come true.

the wish of an angel...

an angel. found once upon a time ago.

in a small little village. called prinzbach.

happy new year.

i'm still writing down my wishes. my dreams. hopes and visions.

the big things and the small things. even the silly things.

and some of these wishes find their way in the pages of a book

yearning to be filled with manifestations

and stories as they unfold.

this little book that follows me like a companion in quiet moments.

and some of these wishes find themselves written on bits and pieces of paper

sometimes tucked under my pillow like a little prayer,

sometimes i walk to the stream,

set them free on a journey of their own.

and sometimes i simply write them on my heart. like a little secret.

yet wishing to be heard.

where to you write your wishes?

and do you share your secrets?

but i think that one of my wishes

is that each and every one of you...

my friends, and even passing strangers that simply find these words

all discover and create their own special magic

for this new year upon us.

and all write their own wishes on their heart. every day.

i wish you love. happiness. time for quiet moments.

and i wish you the beauty of a smile.

and dreams that come true.

Excerpts of Chapters & Life... Only Love is Real

an older photo
of peggy's cove and nova scotia.
seas and shores are always
a familiar calling. a famililar longing.

sunday. evening.

a quiet sunday. a spent at home sunday.

with the exception of walks in the rain with pup

and then driving him back to where he now calls home.

and then quickly meeting with petra for a coffee,

and an awfully, delicously unhealthy quick bit to eat.

spent the morning with cups of coffee

reading a bit of this and reading a bit of that

working thru my quotes and stirring yet another project

that has lived and dwelled in the mind for much too long.

years of long.

maybe it'll never become, or maybe its time still needs to come.

but this morning we stirred the thoughts

just as i stirred in my coffee cup.

and then i read these words written below

that touch the surface and touch the heart

and touch the mind. the thought. the soul.

almost as though it struck a chord, a tender heartstring.

it was maddie that shared these words, let me find them

and to i thank her for that. for sharing,

almost like unveiling little secrets herself.

i've just poured myself a sunday evening glass of red wine,

catching myself smiling thinking of other little moments of the day,

like long afternoon phone calls,

and little messages shared.

good night. sleep tight.

"There is someone special for everyone. Often there are two or three or even four. They come from different generations. They travel across oceans of time and the depths of heavenly dimensions to be with you again. They come from the other side, from heaven. They look different, but your heart knows them. Your heart has held them in arms like yours in the moon-filled deserts of Egypt and the ancient plains of Mongolia. You have ridden together in the armies of forgotten warrior-generals, and you have lived together in the sand-covered caves of the Ancient Ones. You are bonded together throughout eternity, and you will never be alone.

Your head may interfere: "I do not know you." Your heart knows.

He takes your hand for the first time, and the memory of his touch transcends time and sends a jolt through every atom of your being. She looks into your eyes, and you see a soul companion across centuries. Your stomach turns upside down. Your arms are gooseflesh. Everything outside this moment loses its importance.

He may not recognize you, even though you have finally met again, even though you know him. You can feel the bond. You can see the potential, the future. But he does not. His fears, his intellect, his problems keep a veil over his heart's eyes. He does not let you help him sweep the veil aside. You mourn and grieve, and he moves on. Destiny can be so delicate.

When both recognize each other, no volcano could erupt with more passion. The energy released is tremendous...

...Soul recognition may be subtle and slow. A dawning of awareness as the veil is gently lifted. Not everyone is ready to see right away. There is a timing at work, and patience may be necessary for the one who sees first.

You may be awakened to the presence of your soul companion by a look, a dream, a memory, a feeling. You may be awakened by the touch of his hands or the kiss of their lips, and your soul is jolted back to life..."

she walks on september seas...

petra. walking upon beaches and shores.

of ireland.

and i love this photo. because each and every time

its though i can smell the rain, feel the wind,

remember our silence and beautiful talks

but i think all we did was dream...

yes. although it is december.

i don't feel like i've arrived here yet. this time of the year.

i feel like i'm a few steps behind. time. september.

where has it all gone?

anyhow. saturday morning and many a thought

dancing and wandering thru the mind.

drinking a cup of coffee

[and wearing a new shirt that says "kafitante"

translated from swiss to german as kaffeetante

and what would that be in english?

ms. coffee? coffee aunt? i haven't a clue.

anyhow, a gift that i got from susanne yesterday

and i can't tell you how it made my day.

just the little things and unexpected surprises like that.]

i read thru a few blogs that i haven't read in a long while.

finding inspiration. being reminded.

but for now, i'm going to keep this short and sweet.

heading out to run a few errands. go into the office for a few hours.

and when i come back in the later of the afternoon,

lenny pup is going to be here with me. for the weekend.

and maybe. i'll come back later to write.

find a few words. share a few words.

or simply say hello.

starry starry night. far away from home.

just a quick hello.

from a holiday. far away from home.

i'm on st. john at the moment.

and as i write,

a view from my room upon cruz bay.

only hearing the tree frogs. soft lulls of the sea.

stars above me.

and a glass or two or three of wine.

saying good night.

will tell more. later.

show more later.

and until then,

blows a kiss and a sweet dream your way.
